I am back from Russia now, however I don’t have much time to tell about my experiences right now, because Wappu is starting. Vappu is the Finnish name for the 1st of May, which is a public holiday. It is also the highest holiday for students. At least in Tampere, the two weeks before the 1st of May are known as Wappu and are packed with different activities: Concerts, Picnics, crazy outdoor games and of course lots of parties. The highlight will be the Teekkarikaste, the dipping of new students (including me) in the Tammerkoski rapids on 1st of May!
